Scottish painter and printmaker, celebrated for wood engravings and still-life compositions.  She studied at the Glasgow School of Art from 1923 to 1930, where she developed a keen interest in colour woodcuts. In 1930, she and her sister Alison relocated to London, where they studied at the Grosvenor School of Modern Art. During the 1930s, she exhibited regularly in London and became a member of the National Society of Painters, Sculptors, and Engravers, as well as the Society of Wood Engravers. In 1940, she returned to Scotland, settling in St Andrews, where she taught art classes to Polish servicemen stationed there during WWII. From 1944 to 1957, she began teaching, mainly at Dundee College of Art. She continued to paint, often producing landscapes inspired by her travels in Switzerland, the Mediterranean, and Greece. Her work is held in several public collections, including the National Galleries of Scotland.
