Messer studied Fine Art in Brighton, and he now lives and works in Lewes. He works mainly in egg tempera, and has exhibited widely in the UK and in Europe. Group exhibitions include the RA Summer Exhibition, NEAC, Hunting Group and Singer & Friedlander Prizes. Commissions include The House of Lords, Princess Royal Hospital, Arts Council and many private undertakings.
