England's Glory was a well-known brand of matches, first made in Gloucester before the WWI. Bryant & May, who made the matches, went out of business in the 1980s, but the brand is still produced, ironically in Sweden.
Ensor's father played for West Bromwich Albion, and he himself played at semi-professional level. He studied art at Birmingham, Leeds and the Slade, and has worked as a printer, toy designer, illustrator and fairground painter. His work as a painter/sculptor is held in various museums and collections, including Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art, the PFA, and Billy Connolly collection.
Represented in the PFA Collection.
